Back to work
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway reopened to volunteers carrying out general restoration over the weekend of 1st/2nd August. Prior to this the only volunteers allowed on site were to assist with preparations to start running Steam hauled trains on the 15th August.
Work has recommenced on the bodywork on 47105’s paintwork, 105 was set to receive a new coat of BR blue in May but Covid put everyone’s plans into a cocked hat, a new timescale for the repaint is yet to be agreed.
Over the weekend one of the cab sides was under coated with the lines where the blue meets the yellow, looking at the 47s in BR blue you’d think was fairly easy but the devil is in the detail and it varies between locos!
